If it seems too good to be true.....

This is either going to be amazing, or a worse disappointment that No Man's Sky and Star Citizen rolled into one. Hopefully they put equal amounts of details in the actual simulation, and not just the graphics.

If so, my computer is due for an upgrade.

It's looking like it will be subscription only? As Azure AI is an online platform and will handle a lot of the processing power needed for the graphics! So your PC specs won't need to be super computer specs. As Microsoft online servers will do it for you! Don't know for sure, but that's my take on it!

For me is the Powerful Simulator I see with Graphics without words. One thing I heard/read a few month ago was maybe the Simulator will work by Streaming through Servers of Microsoft because I can imagine to run this Simulator I would need at least about 2/3 TB if it wasn't more, not to mention Graphic Card, Processor, Memory, etc.
I currently opted by Prepar3d v4 because the Simulator it's more realistic (I hope understand what I am saying) but on the other "side" X- Plane 11 have more Graphics Realism if I regretted sometimes yes other times no and only by the Scenery.

For my part I would only like to have heard this news when the Simulator was for sale because it created a nervousness and anxiety.

Everyone keeps mentioning hardware, CPU, Ram etc... Folks! Stop thinking like it’s 2010. This will hopefully be cloud based and backed by MS Azure Cloud Computing. No hardware needed.

                        Mic drop....

This is subscription based for both xbox and PC. Azure AI will run everything on Microsoft servers and feed it to your computer thru high speed internet assume minimum 20meg down 5meg up. All workload on their servers, minimal on your CPU and GPU. As for realism, still unknown. Hate monthly subscription, but if as realistic as it is visual pleasing I will gladly 😥 pay to play. Also, last information was that it will support all VR platforms currently in use on PC, again going back to their machines doing the heavy lifting, this I'm afraid is the future of gaming until future CPU GPU memory speed size loads can be matched to what players want now..

This is a recap of the failed Microsoft Flight 2012 edition when they tried to force the sim community in a different direction. It was a massive failure. So much so that many people simply forget about it. But all the aircraft you named were in microsoft flight including the icon a5. I find that very interesting. Rehashing a failed sim? If they leave out the SDK again it will be another failed sim. Are you listening Microsoft? I doubt it. Everything up to FSX was epic because they allowed you to make your own models and scenery. After that, it was a dead end. Did microsoft learn anything? Nope! I bet you money this new xbox swindle will have no SDK and a very very short shelf life.

Microsoft used to be top dog when it came to Flight Simulators, then they stopped making it for a while. I was pleasantly surprised to see this return to Flight Simulation announced at E3. If this does well, I wonder if Microsoft will pick up their Train Simulator again?

Idk why people are making GPU jokes, FSX struggles to run on a RTX 2080 ti, this game probably better optimized -,-

And I'm also guessing my 7 year old Windows 7 Pro PC, which has been flawless, will not run this. S-I-G-H.

I have 2 questions, from the git go. Does it allow 2D cockpits? 3D cockpits are totally the time I get to the needed switch, I'll be a smoking hole in the ground. 2D is much more "realistic" as I get to the needed switch immediately.

I'm not "excited" about a possible game ported from an XBox environment. In my 20+ years of simulator programs (MSFS, Silent Hunter, etc.) I have found that only the power available on a PC truly does them justice.
We shall see. MSFS was notoriously tricky to modify to one's personal taste. I used to build 2D cockpits and side views (for add on aircraft that didn't have them) just so I could enjoy it.
I have a nagging suspicion that MS will, once again, dictate how we simulate flight, regardless of how it SHOULD be.

I like what I see. What I don't like is that it's only on Xbox one and as everyone know's to play Xbox one games on PC you have to be on Windows 10. If this is not a Xbox one and PC separate exclusive and you have to have Windows 10 to play it then for sure Microsoft can go to hell and I'll never buy another one of there products ever again. Soi guess only time will tell.

It will be aimed at the general masses who dont care about the details and realism of flying, those that do are going to find a very limited sim that is going to take years to develop into something special that FSX was.
